National Poetry Month 2016

Day 9.

When the elders are afraid of the children
This is a sad day
When the elders forget that being wizened
Does not mean that their ways
Have no meaning
No power
And we’re not taught hour by hour
Of their experiences
And victories
It’s a sad song
A trickery
Where are the old songs they sung us
The ones of how to live
Where are the sages among us
Teaching that great gift
Of unity in power
And every single hour
There is freedom
In this circle
We need to grow
Together
Happy National Poetry Month!
With words, song & prayer,

I sometimes feel like dancing in the middle of people. But I try not to bump the ones too close.
