Tony was so in love he didn’t notice. Oh to love so blindly like that again. It was in everything he did, even his food tasted like love, and not just because he went to culinary school. He ate tilapia off the floor for me and told me my story draft was cool even when he was supposed to be studying and should have waited until the weekend to look at it (or at least until his homework was done).

We ran, and the guy with the chainsaw chased us. Not to worry, the blades were taken off. It was all for effect.

We were supposed to be scared as we traveled in the dark, but I felt mixed up, like my eyes were in a blender and spinning – into memory and into future and into the moment, trying not to trip on the trails as we fell in love.
