I published Ugly Drawers, Pretty Panties, my first book of poetry, as an expression of narrative medicine, autoethnography, and catharsis. Doing so was both humbling and freeing.

I thank God for the voice He gave me, and hope I never silence myself in the face of hegemony again. It feels good to be ME in a way it hasn’t before.
