Mini poem by Tiffany VakilianI lingered, waiting on the world to see
what I refused to
I am here now admitted my ignorance
And my power
Right here on my own handmade stage

Does that sound arrogant? Does that demean you?
I can finally say
here today
that is NOT my fault

Can you believe it?
I used to apologize
For those who want to fly into success
Whatever THAT means
with no scrapes or bruises
no embarrassment
no scars

I cain’t no mo
Cuz there ain’t no mo
pity for the whining, complaining, overthinking
holding on to the fence for dear life…
I ain’t
I cain’t
And I have no room for you

I’m brewing my own dreams
and they come with stuff
specific to me
to do
and soon you will see
me through
the eyes of my hard work

or you won’t
but that don’t
take ne’er one bit of my shine away
